If your child has hard stools that are painful to pass or they have to strain, they’re probably constipated.
This is a common problem especially amongst younger children and usually happens because they aren’t eating enough fibre or drinking enough fluid.

Clinical trials have shown that the natural gel in tomato seeds can prevent clotting and improve blood circulation in the body.
Professor Asim Dutta-Roy from the Rowett Institute in Aberdeen
made the discovery.
The colourless, tasteless gel can be added to various foods and consumed.

People with apple shapes, or large bellies, are more likely to die from heart disease than those with pear shapes, where the fat is on the hips, a Dutch study has found.
Having a large waistline can increase the risk of dying threefold, according to the research.
A waist circumference of more than 101.6 centimetres for men and 87.9 for women is considered dangerous. Researchers define the waist as the measurement around a person’s middle, not the trouser size, which is mostly a hip reading. Read the rest of this entry »

Some risk factors for heart disease can be controlled, and some can’t. According to the American Heart Association, these are the leading factors that put you at risk for coronary artery disease or a heart attack.
