Cigarette packets should have plain packaging to make smoking less attractive, ministers have suggested.
The government plans to ask retailers to cover up displays of cigarettes from next year to protect children.

The government has apologised to the families of dead nuclear workers whose body parts were taken for testing without their knowledge.
The Redfern Inquiry was ordered when it emerged in 2007 that tissue was taken from 65 workers at Sellafield in Cumbria between 1962 and 1992.

People who work with a laptop computer resting on their legs have been warned that they could be permanently damaging their skin.

The “once in a generation” finding could allow scientists to create a new generation of drugs that can simply turn down up the theshold at which the body fells pain.

Scientists say they have established one reason why gum disease may increase the risk of heart disease.
The link between gum and heart problems has long been recognised but it is unclear if poor oral health is simply a marker of a person’s general wellbeing.
