Eating a folate-rich diet has been shown to decrease the risk of developing colorectal cancer in women, according to a new study.
Reuters reports that a South Korean study found females who ate the most folate had about a two-thirds lower risk of getting the disease than women who got smaller amounts of the vitamin.
The amount of folate in a man’s diet did not influence the likelihood of developing colorectal cancer, however.
Researchers involved in the study say the findings are significant because they suggest that diet modifications may help cut the risk of disease. Read the rest of this entry »

Viagra, or sildenafil citrate to give it its scientific name, has quickly become one of the most well known drugs in the world. But just how effective is it?
In terms of helping a man get and maintain an erection, you would have to say its very effective. Studies have conclusively shown that to be the case.

New research out this week from the American Institute for Cancer Research adds to the growing body of knowledge about actions women can take to lower their breast cancer risk. The new report is an update of previous research, adding results of 81 new studies to the findings of more than 800 that have followed women in the United States and around the world to see who develops breast cancer and who doesn’t.
The study authors contend that some 70,000 cases of breast cancer—representing 40 percent of new U.S. cases—could be prevented every year if women followed these measures. Read the rest of this entry »
