Viagra, or sildenafil citrate to give it its scientific name, has quickly become one of the most well known drugs in the world. But just how effective is it?
In terms of helping a man get and maintain an erection, you would have to say its very effective. Studies have conclusively shown that to be the case.
However, there has been considerable debate over the safety of the Viagra, particularly in relation to its possibility of an increased risk of heart attack. Although, there is no danger for individuals with a stable, healthy hear, the advice is much less clear for those with known problems in that area. Consultation with a GP should always be sought beforehand.
Unfortunately, Viagra is very much for men only and should not be taken by women. Some studies have shown a slight increase in sexual pleasure for females taking the drug but at the moment Viagra is not licensed for use by women.
However, with the millions if not billions of pound Viagra has generated, it surely can’t be long before we too have the option of reaching for a small pill to give our libido a boost.
